Una noticia para viajar sin moverse de su sillón y contemplar el friso del Partenón en internet. La iniciativa viene del Ministerio de Cultura griego que acaba de lanzar una web titulada The Partenon Frieze dedicada al friso más famoso de la historia, el del Partenón de Atenas. Evidentemente esta idea se enmarca dentro de la campaña por la restitución a Grecia de las partes que se llevó Lord Elgin y que se encuentran en el Museo Británico.
La página web nos ofrece un estupendo tour virtual por el friso, con descripción detallada de todas sus escenas. Todas y cada una de las piezas de los 115 bloques del friso están representados, pudiendo ver al completo la procesión de las Panateneas. El friso del Partenon tiene 1 metro de alto y 160 metros de longitud. De esos 160 metros, 50 se conservan en el Museo de la Acrópolis, otros 80 metros en el British Museum, 1 bloque en el Louvre, y otros fragmentos se hallan diseminados por museos de Palermo, el Vaticano, Würzburg, Viena, Munich y Copenhague.
